Baden. A Cross for Voluntary War Aid
(Kreuz für Freiwillige Kriegshilfe). A cross pattee constructed of gilt bronze; the obverse with a central medallion depicting a cross, with a royal crown, “1914” and “1916” on the cross, as well as Baden’s coat of arms; the reverse with a similar central medallion bearing the crowned royal monogram of Grand Duke Friedrich; on a double loop suspension; accompanied by a period original lady’s ribbon with a horizontal pinback; measuring 38.79 (w) x 68.66 mm (h); weighing 19.4 grams; in overall better than very fine condition.
