Bavaria, Kingdom. An Officer’s Brocade Dress Belt and Buckle, c.1916
(Bayerischer Gürtel). A round silvered brass Bavarian officer’s belt and buckle, the obverse depicting a raised Bavarian royal crown surrounded by a laurel leaf wreath, held in place by three attachment prongs visible on the obverse, with two swivel buckles for attachment to the belt, the obverse maker marked “D.R.G.M. 246570”, measuring 45 mm in diameter, attached to its original belt, constructed of dark blue doeskin wool, the exterior with machine-embroidered silver aluminum wire with dual bands of light blue stripes, the reverse with a leather strap bearing nine eyelets for an adjustable fit, measuring 45 mm (w) x 1130 mm (l), in near extremely fine condition.
