Constructed of silver, the obverse consisting of a detailed oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by a bow tie ribbon, topped by a Bavarian royal crown, with a central depiction of a monoplane flying over a rural landscape, the reverse with a barrel hinge and vertical pinback meeting a round wire catch, maker marked “KARL PÖLLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, with a silver content number of “800”, measuring 45.35 mm (w) x 72.95 mm (h), weighing 23.6 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
Footnote: Research conducted by the city archives of Schrobenhausen has confirmed that the firms of Karl Pöllath and Carl Poellath are identical, and that the change in spelling to the latter occurred after 1918.
