Bavaria, Kingdom. An Agricultural Association Centenary Medal, with Case, by Carl Poellath
(Landwirtschaft Jubiläumsmedaille). Constructed of blackened bronze, the obverse with a raised rightward-facing profile of Prince Regent Luitpold, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a central plow, above dates “1810-1910”, below an inscription of “DER LANDWIRTSCHAFTLICHE VEREIN IN BAYERN” (“THE AGRICULTURAL ASSOCIATION IN BAVARIA”), the obverse designer marked “R. AIGNER”, measuring 60.33 mm in diameter, weighing 78.8 grams, accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a green satin lid liner and partially-intact hinge cover, with a depressed green velvet medal bed, opening with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release and dual functional metal hinges, the exterior bearing a maker’s label of “CARL POELLATH, SCHROBENHAUSEN”, measuring 85 mm (w) x 85 mm (w) x 20 mm (h), in overall near extremely fine condition.
