A Cased Bavarian Military Merit Cross; 3rd Class by Deschler & Sohn
                A fine example of a Bavarian Military Merit Cross 3rd Class; in bronze in the shape of a maltese cross; the obverse with a circular central black enamel medallion with the cypher of King Ludwig III, surrounded by a ring inscribed “Meriti” (Merit); the reverse bearing the Bavarian crowned lion circumscribed by a buckled belt, dated “1866”; on a loop for suspension; with a full length correct replacement ribbon; measuring 49.95 mm x 41.62 mm; in its case of issue; constructed of cardstock, with a faux leather exterior; a maker’s sticker on the reverse reading “Deschler & Sohn, München”; with the top and bottom of the case missing; in overall better than very fine condition.
