What's a max bid?

(Verdienstorden vom Heiligen Michael, Kreuz IV. Klasse mit Krone). Instituted 16 February 1837 by King Ludwig I. (1887-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with blue enameled arms set within a silver frame, the obverse bearing a central oval silver medallion bearing a finely-detailed depiction of St. Michael trampling the devil, with the former’s shield featuring a blue enameled inscription of “QUIS ET DEUS” (“WHO IS LIKE GOD”), the reverse bearing a central circular silver medallion overlaid by a blue enameled inscription of “VIRTUTI” (“VIRTUE”), unmarked, measuring 35.25 mm (w) x 59.86 mm (h), weighing 23.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), accompanied by its period original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing the name and class of the award in embossed and gilded lettering, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner bearing a gilt maker’s mark of “ORDENFABRIK WEISS & CIE., MÜNCHEN”, with a depressed purple velvet medal bed, measuring 56 mm (w) x 110 mm (l) x 25 mm (h), with some flecking visible to the enamels of the award and material fatigue evident to the case, the latter rendering its locking mechanism non-functional, in overall near extremely fine condition.
