Hesse, Grand Duchy. An Order of the Star of Brabant, Silver Medal Museum Display Piece

(Orden Stern von Brabant, Silberne Medaille Museumsstück). Instituted 14 June 1914 by Grand Duke Ernest Louis. (1914-1918 issue; post-1918 manufacture). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Henrich I on top of a Brabant Star, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜRST VOLK NÄCHSTENLIEBE WOHLFAHRT 1914” topped by Heinrich’s birth year of “1244”, unmarked, measuring 33.15 mm in diameter, weighing 15.6 grams, in better than very fine condition.
