Hesse-Kassel, Landgraviate. A 1797 Elector Wilhelm II and Princess Augusta Wedding Medal
(Silberne Erinnerungsmedaille). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension, the obverse with rightward facing profiles of Elector Wilhelm II and Princess Augusta, circumscribed by names and titles, the reverse with a central winged figure clutching a torch and laurel crown, circumscribed by an inscription of “BONI CONIUGATOR AMORIS” (“BRINGER OF VIRTUOUS LOVE”), above a date of “1797” in Roman numerals, measuring 41.85 mm in diameter, weighing 29.1 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
