"Ernst Ludwig Grosherzog von Hessen". Silver, 33 mm, original ribbon, dark patina, contact marks, near mint. Accompanied by its paper packet of issue, marked "Tapferkeits=Medaille" on the front, maker marked "Ernst Macholdt DARNSTADT" on the under side of the flap, sunned, very lightly soiled, small tear where the flap butts the top fold, packet better than very fine.
