Hohenlohe, Principality. An Order of the Phoenix, Knight’s Cross
(Haus- und Phönixorden, Ritterkreuz). Instituted 29 December 1757 by Prince Philip I. Constructed of gilded silver with enamels, on loop for suspension, consisting of a Cross Pattée with white enameled arms, both the obverse and reverse arms with an inscription of “EX FLAM CLARIOR” (“FROM THE FLAME, BRIGHTER”), unmarked, measuring 40.68 mm (w) x 47.30 mm (h), weighing 12.0 grams, the centerpiece is missing and there is chipping to both the obverse and reverse enamels, in poor condition.
