Germany. A Hohenzollern 40-Year Merit Badge, c.1935

(Dienstabzeichen für 40 Jahre). Instituted 16 November 1935 by the House of Hohenzollern. (1935-present issue). Constructed of silver with gilt, vertical pinback, the obverse consisting of an oval laurel and oak leaf wreath, joined together at the bottom by ribbon, topped by a royal crown, overlaid by a gilt monogram, the pinback with a silver content mark of “900”, measuring 20.40 mm (w) x 32.55 mm (h), weighing 5.7 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
