Hohenzollern, State. An Order of Hohenzollern Bene Merenti, Cross of the Lord’s Mistress, c.1935
Instituted 1932. A silver gilt decoration presenting a white enamelled cross with thick black enamel borders, three smooth rays in each quadrant, the obverse medallion features the inscription BENE MERENTI on a white enamelled field, surrounded by a green enamelled wreath, a large gilt crown with internal red enamelled cap surmounts the cross, the reverse bears a ovular clip which contains the ribbon bow, a pin sits horizontally across the clip, bearing a silver 900 hallmark in the center, the badge measures 30.2mm (w) x 45.8mm (h – inclusive of cross adorned crown suspension), weighs 21.7 grams including ribbon, enamels intact, a rare ladies decoration, in extremely fine condition.
