(Hausorden Ehrenkreuz). Instituted 25 October 1869 by Prince Leopold III and Adolf Georg I. (1887-1890 issue). Characteristic of Sy Zimmermann manufacture, a silver eight point star with smooth arms, the obverse medallion featuring a red enamelled rose on a white enamelled field, surrounded by a blue enamel ring inscribed FÜR TREUE UND VERDIENST (For Loyalty and Service), the reverse presents a single pin assembly, pin marked 900 for silver fineness, measures 84.6mm (w) x 84.6mm (h), weighs 67.1 grams, minor enamel damage around TREUE in the blue enamel ring, otherwise in near mint condition.
