Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a finely-detailed oak branch bearing an inscription of “DES VERDIENSTES ANERKENNUNG” (“FOR MERIT RECOGNITION”), the reverse with a Lippe-style rose with a branch of flowers and laurels, the obverse maker marked “L” for the firm of Daniel Friedrich Loos, measuring 36.34 mm in diameter, weighing 16.3 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
