Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A House and Merit Order, II Class Honour Cross, c.1900
(Haus- und Verdienstorden Ehrenkreuze II. Klasse). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August. (1838-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse with a central raised monogram of Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August, circumscribed by an inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), the reverse with a central raised Oldenburg coat of arms, unmarked, measuring 35.36 mm (w) x 40.43 mm (h), weighing 14.4 grams, in extremely fine condition.
