A cross pattée constructed of blackened iron, with swords crossing through the centre, the obverse centre presents a circular central medallion bearing the crowned cipher of Peter Friedrich Ludwig within a ring inscribed EIN GOTT EIN RECHT EINE WAHRHEIT (ONE GOD, ONE LAW, ON TRUTH), the reverse centre presents the Grand Ducal Coat of Arms with crowned mantle, measuring 32.78 mm 36.74 (h - inclusive of integral ring),on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, and in very fine condition.
