Constructed of gilded bronze with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a round green enameled oak leaf wreath, the obverse with a central gilt monogram of Peter Frederick Louis on a blue enameled centerpiece, within a ring of ribbed gilt surrounded by a red enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHT, ONE TRUTH”), within a final ribbed gilt ring, the reverse with a hand-painted Oldenburg coat of arms on a white enameled centerpiece inside of a ribbed gilt ring, with an integral loop and suspension ring connecting to a hollow gilt crown, in turn with a suspension ring and period original ribbon, unmarked, the badge measuring 20.25 mm in diameter, the crown measuring 19.82 mm (w) x 18.41 mm (h), weighing 23.1 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
