(Haus und Verdienstorden von Herzog Peter Friedrich Ludwig, Offizierkreuz). Instituted on November 27 1838 by Grand Duke Augustus. (Issued 1903-1918). In silver gilt consisting of a white enamelled Cross Pattée, obverse with a central applique featuring a gilt monogram on a blue enameled background, inside a gilt ring, in turn surrounded by a ring of red enamel with gilt order motto of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS, ONE TRUTH”), reverse with a barrel hinge and narrow banjo-style pinback meeting an elongated round wire catch, maker marked on pinback “B. Knauer”, measuring 44.94 mm (w) x 44.86 mm (h), very fine.
