Oldenburg, Grand Duchy. A House Order of Peter Friedrich Ludwig, Civil Division, III Class Honour Cross
(Oldenburger Haus- und Verdienstorden, Ehrenkreuz III. Klasse). Instituted 27 November 1838 by Grand Duke Paul Friedrich August. (1838-1918 issue). Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée, the obverse bearing a central raised monogram of Peter Friedrich Ludwig, circumscribed by and inscription of “EIN GOTT, EIN RECHT, EINE WAHRHEIT” (“ONE GOD, ONE TRUTH, ONE RIGHTEOUSNESS”), the reverse bearing a central raised Oldenburg coat of arms, unmarked, measuring 35.28 mm (w) x 39.27 mm (h), weighing 16.1 grams, with a small spot of oxidation visible to the centre of the reverse, in near extremely fine condition.
