Constructed of blackened magnetic iron, on loop for suspension from its period original bowtie ribbon with horizontal pinback, the obverse with a leftward-facing profile of Friedrich August circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR TREUE DIENSTE IM WELTKRIEGE” (“FOR FAITHFUL SERVICE IN THE WORLD WAR”), unmarked, measuring 27.93 mm (w) x 40.30 mm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
