Germany, Imperial. An Oldenburg Infantry Regiment 91 Commemorative Medal for Female Recipient
(Medaille Oldenburg Infanterie Regiment 91). A bronze, circular medal commemorating the inauguration of the Regimental Monument for the First War, the obverse presents a left-facing lion, bordered by the inscription “OLDBG INF REGT 91” and dated “1914 - 1918,” marked with maker’s initials “AR” beside the Lion’s paw, the reverse presents the Imperial crown, the dates “1813” and “1919,” and the inscription “ZUR ERINNERUNG AN DIE EINWEIHUNG DES DENKMALS 1921” (“IN MEMORY OF THE INAUGURATION OF THE MONUMENT 1921”), measures 32 mm in diameter, on ring and suspended from blue and red ribbon on horizontal pinback, and in extremely fine condition.
