An example of a very scarce and fine Iron Cross 1813 First Class; with a wide version silver frame and iron core (magnetic), with a vertical pinback, a barrel hinge, and a round wire catch; unmarked; measuring 44.08 mm (w) x 44.09 (h); weighing 10.9 grams. Accompanied by a presentation case for an Iron Cross 1914 First Class; constructed of heavy pressed paper, with a black faux leather (leatherette) exterior; the exterior of the lid embossed with a silver outline of an Iron Cross; lined interior lid, with a recessed medal bed; functional spring catch with stud release; intact interior fabric hinge with a functional yet slightly ripped exterior leatherette hinge; measuring 68 mm (w) x 68 mm (h); in overall very fine condition. Accompanied by a certificate of authenticity by Detlev Niemman.
