Prussia, Kingdom. A General Honour Decoration with 70-Year Clasp
(Allgemeines-Ehrenzeichen mit Jubiläumsschild 70). Instituted 18 January 1810 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1851-1918 issue). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon with “70” clasp, the obverse bearing a raised central inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE”) within a laurel leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, unmarked, measuring 39.15 mm in diameter, weighing 26.7 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
