Prussia, Kingdom. A War Medal for Combatants of 1813-1814
(Kriegsdenkmünze für Kämpfer 1813-1814). Instituted 24 December 1813 by Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1814-1815 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a Cross Pattée, bearing central dates “1813-1814”, within a laurel wreath, the reverse with a central monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm III, on top of an inscription of “PREUßENS TAPFERN KRIEGERN” (“PRUSSIA’S BRAVE WARRIORS”), circumscribed by an inscription of “GOTT WAR MIT UNS, IHM SEY DIE EHRE!” (“GOD WAS WITH US, TO HIM THE HONOUR!”), the edge with an inscription of “AUS EROBERTEM GESCHÜTZ” (“FROM CONQUERED CANNON”), measuring 29.07 mm in diameter, in better than very fine condition.
