Prussia, State. A Royal Order of the Crown in Gold, Third Class, c.1910
(Königliche Kronen-Orden III. Klasse mit Schwertern). Issued 1867-1918. A gold cross pattee with white enameled arms; the obverse with a circular central medallion depicting a Royal Prussian crown, surrounded by a blue enameled ring, inscribed “GOTT MIT UNS” (German - God with us) in matching gilt lettering; the reverse with a circular central medallion depicting the royal cipher of King William I, surrounded by a similar blue enameled ring, dated “DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861” (German - The 18th of October 1861); on a loop for suspension from a period original ribbon; marked “W” for “Johann Wagner & Sohn, Berlin” on the bottom of the six o’clock arm; measuring 42.95 mm (w) x 42.72 mm (h); 11.2 grams; in overall better than extremely fine condition.
