Prussia, State. An Order of the Red Eagle, IV Class Cross with 50-Year Anniversary Clasp, by Johann Wagner & Sohn

(Roter Adler-Orden Kreuz 4. Klasse mit Jubiläumszahl 50). Type IV Model Long Wings Type and Stippled Arms. (Issued 1879-1918). A silver cross pattée with stippled arms, the obverse centre presents a white enamelled medallion depicting a Brandenburg crowned eagle, the reverse centre engraved with a crowned cipher of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, on loop for suspension from period original ribbon, featuring the “50” Jubilee clasp, maker marked “W” for Johann Wagner & Sohn of Berlin on the bottom of the six o’clock arm, measuring 38.70 mm (w) x 42.43 mm (h), weighing 17.0 grams, and in near extremely fine condition.
