In silver, marked "SILBER" and "890" (silver) on the edge, obverse illustrating the left-facing bust of General Field Marshal Paul von Hindenburg, surrounded by the inscription "GENERALFELDM. v. BENECKENDORF v. HINDENBURG.", reverse illustrating a standing nude warrior holding sword, a large bear representing Russia lying on its back between the soldier's feet, the bear with its paws raised, the date "1914" to the right, surrounded by the inscription "ZUR BEFREIUNG OSTPREUSSENS" and maker marked "L. CHR. LAUER NUERNBERG", measuring 33.3 mm in diameter, edge nicks, contact marks, very fine.
