What's a max bid?

Your maximum bid should be the highest amount you're willing to pay for an item.

If the current auction price is $100 dollars and you place a maximum bid of $120 dollars, the system will bid $101 dollars on your behalf.

If no other participant places a bid, you win that auction lot for $101 dollars.

If another auction participant places a bid of $110 dollars, the system will subsequently place a bid of $111 dollars on your behalf. The system will continue to bid in $1.00 dollar increments until your maximum bid of $120 dollars is exceeded.

If another auction participant places a bid for $125 dollars, the auction lot price will display $121 dollars having exceeded your previously submitted maximum bid by $1.00 dollar.

A pair of Prussian merit medals, including a General Honour Medal, constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse bearing an inscription of “VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT” (“SERVICE TO THE STATE) inside of a laurel leaf wreath, the reverse bearing a monogram of Kaiser Friedrich Wilhelm III topped by a royal crown, unmarked, measuring 39.32 mm in diameter, weighing 24.0 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in very fine condition, and; a Hohenzollern Commemorative Medal for Combatants of 1848/49, constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with an iron Cross bearing a central Hohenzollern eagle, circumscribed by an inscription of “VOM FELS ZUM MEER” (“FROM THE CLIFFS TO THE SEA”), the reverse with an inscription of “FRIEDRICH WILHELM IV” with dates “1848-1849”, circumscribed by an inscription of “SEINEN BIS IN DEN TOD GETREUEN KRIEGERN” (“HIS LOYAL WARRIORS UNTO DEATH”), measuring 29.89 mm in diameter, weighing 15.5 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
