An 1834 Baron de Stifft Commemorative Table Medal
An 1834 Baron de Stifft Commemorative Table Medal - Bronze, obverse illustrating the bust of the Baron flanked by the inscriptions "ANDREAS LIBER" and "BARO DE STIFFT" (Baron of Stifft), engraver marked "J.D. BOEHM F." on the obverse, reverse inscribed "ANDREAS LIBER, BARO DE STIFFT, LAVREAM SEMISECVLAREM CELEBRAT ORDO MEDICORVM VINDOBONENSIVM MCCCCXXXIV (1834), NAT 29 NOV 1760, PROM 21 AVG 1784" inside an open-ended wreath, 51.8 mm, light contact, edge wear and bruising, very fine. Footnote: Andreas Liber, Baron de Stifft (1760-1836) was a Prussian General and Medical Doctor (MD), who was the Court Physician to Emperor Francis I of Austria and Freiherr von Stifft. This medal of Andreas Liber was made by Josef Daniel Boehm (1794-1865), who was court medalist and director of the Imperial Mint at Vienna in 1834.
