Prussia, Kingdom. A Military Merit Medal for Foreigners, Combatant, c.1914
(Krieger Verdienstmedaille) Instituted 1835. Post 1888 Issue. A circular medal constructed of silver gilt, the obverse bears the inscription “KRIEGER VERDIENST” (WARRIOR MERIT) encompassed by a laurel wreath tied with a ribbon at the bottom, the reverse bears the crowned cipher “WR” (Wilhelm Rex), measuring 24.95 mm (w) x 29.49 mm (h), with suspension loop on a black ribbon with whtie stripes, very fine.
