A Merit Cross for War Aid, (Verdienstkreuz für Kriegshilfe) Instituted 5 December 1916. A Maltese cross paty constructed of a non magnetic metal, the obverse centre bears the crowned cipher “WR” (Wilhelm Rex), the reverse centre bears the inscription “FÜR KRIEGSHILSDIENST” (FOR WAR AID SERVICE), with a loop for suspension, on a white, red and black striped ribbon, measuring 41.54 mm (w) x 41.45 mm (h), very fine.
A Merit Cross for War Aid Document to Johannes Werner, on cream coloured paper. The document is dated 6 September 1918, stamped and signed. The reverse is numbered “8298/8”. Presenting two folding creases, some creasing and scuffing at the edges and minor discolouration. Measuring 260 mm (w) x 209 mm (h), very fine.
