Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Black Eagle, Mantle Star, c.1830
(Hohe Orden vom Schwarzen Adler, Bruststern zum Kreuz des Ordens, Schabrunkenstern). Of extremely high quality constructed of flat, twisted, and rolled silver bullion wires; with a central yellow fabric field depicting a left facing black eagle thereby denoting the star of the order, rather than the mantle star, surrounded by a broad ring consisting of a laurel wreath constructed of multi-coloured fabric, with the motto “SUUM CUIQUE” (Latin - To each his own), measuring 120 mm (w) x 130 mm (h); a lightly worn example with a pleasing patina, very fine.
