Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Red Eagle, Civil Division IV Class Cross
(Roter Adler Orden Kreuz IV. Klasse). Instituted 12 June 1792 by King Friedrich Wilhelm II. (1864-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a hand-painted Hohenzollern eagle, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm II, unmarked, measuring 38.95 mm (w) x 43.88 mm (h), weighing 14.6 grams, with minor flecking and tarnishing visible to the medallion and silver base, respectively, in near extremely fine condition.
