Prussia, Kingdom. A Garde Regiment Helmet Plate
(Preußen Helmemblem). Constructed of silvered brass, the obverse consisting of an eight-pointed radiant starburst, joined together through the rays by a banner bearing an inscription of “MIT GOTT FÜR KÖNIG UND VATERLAND 1800” (“WITH GOD FOR KING AND FATHERLAND 1860”), bearing a central Prussian eagle, set within a ring bearing an inscription of “SUUM CUIQUE” (“TO EACH HIS OWN”) with laurel branches, the reverse with both attachment loops intact, unmarked, measuring 8.5 cm (w) x 8.5 cm (h), in near extremely fine condition.
