Prussia, Kingdom. A Life Saving Medal, c.1910
(Rettungsmedaillen) Instituted 1 February 1833. Type IV, 1907-19018 Issue. A circular medal constructed of silver, the obverse bears the left-facing bust of Wilhelm III circumscribed with “FRIEDRICH WILHELM III KONIG VON PREUSSEN”, with a small 6-dot symbol at the top, the reverse centre bears the inscription “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER), encompassed by an oak leaf wreath, on loop for suspension with orange ribbon with white stripes, measuring 25.14 mm (w) x 29.26 mm (h), weighing 8.3 g, very fine.
