Prussia, Kingdom. A Life Saving Medal, First Pattern, by Loos and Pfeuffer
(Erinnerungsmedaille für Rettung aus Gefahr 1. Form). Instituted 23 September 1833 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III. (1833-1870 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse bearing a raised and leftward-facing profile of King Friedrich Wilhelm III, circumscribed by name and title, the reverse bearing a central wreathed inscription of “FÜR RETTUNG AUS GEFAHR” (“FOR RESCUE FROM DANGER”), the obverse engraver and maker marked “G. LOOS” and “C. PFEUFFER”, measuring 50.50 mm in diameter, weighing 56.8 grams, in extremely fine condition.
