A gilt-bronze cross paty with stippled panels to the arms, the obverse centre bears a Prussian crown within a deep blue enamel inscribed in gilt letters “GOTT MIT UNS” (GOD WITH US), gilt arabesques below, the reverse bears a circular medallion with the cipher “WR” for King WIlhelm I within a deep blue enamel ring inscribed in gilt letters “Den 18 October 1861”, with suspension ring on light blue ribbon, measuring 43.32 mm (w) x 47.80 mm (h), very fine.
