Prussia, Kingdom. An Artillery Officer’s Pickelhaube Plate
(Pickelhaube Insigne). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse consisting of a Hohenzollern eagle clutching an orb and sceptre, overlaid by the monogram of Frederick the Great and a Cross Pattée bearing an inscription of “Mit Gott für König und Vaterland” (“With God for King and Fatherland”) and date of “1813”, the reverse with Cross Pattée’s two attachment prongs visible, with all three reverse attachment prongs intact, unmarked, measuring 130 mm (w) x 114 mm (h), minor tarnishing evident, otherwise in near extremely fine condition.
