Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown, II Class Breast Star with Case, by Samuel Friedeberg & Söhne
(Königlicher Kronen-Orden Bruststern zur II. Klasse mit Etui). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King/Kaiser Wilhelm I. (1869-1916 issue). Constructed of silvered with Gold and enamels, the obverse consisting of a four-pointed radiant starburst, bearing a central Gold medallion overlaid by a raised crown, situated within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD WITH US”) with arabesques the reverse with a raised barrel hinge and tapering vertical pinback meeting a rounded catch, maker marked with the logo of Samuel Friedeberg & Söhne, Berlin, measuring 78.58 mm (w) x 78.88 mm (h), weighing 55.2 grams, accompanied by its original presentation case, constructed of a wooden frame with a faux black leather exterior liner, the lid bearing a gilded and embossed monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm I, the interior with a padded white satin lid liner and a slotted maroon velvet bed bed, closing with a functional metal spring catch with exterior stud release, unmarked, measuring 94 mm (w) x 92 mm (l) x 30 mm (h), a superb set example in extremely fine condition.
