Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Crown, IV Class Cross, c.1910
(Königlicher Kronen-Orden Kreuz IV. Klasse). Instituted 18 October 1861 by King Wilhelm I. (1869-1918 issue). Constructed of gilded bronze with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with pebbled arms, the obverse with a central raised crown, within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt inscription of “GOTT MIT UNS” (“GOD IS WITH US”) and arabesques, the reverse with a central raised monogram of King Wilhelm I, within a blue enameled ring bearing a gilt institution date of “DEN 18. OCTOBER 1861”, unmarked, measuring 43.55 mm (w) x 48.02 mm (h), weighing 17.1 grams, in overall extremely fine condition.
