Prussia, Kingdom. An Order of the Red Eagle in Gold, III Class Cross, by Samuel Friedeberg & Söhne
        (Roter Adlerorden, III. Klasse Kreuz). Instituted 12 June 1792 by Friedrich Wilhelm II. Type IV. (1854-1918 issue). Constructed of Gold with multi-coloured enamels, consisting of a Cross Pattée with a Gold frame and white enameled arms, the obverse with a central medallion depicting a red Hohenzollern imperial eagle on a white enameled background, the reverse with an analogous medallion depicting a gilt monogram of Friedrich Wilhelm II topped by a royal crown, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the six o’clock arm maker marked “S.F.S.” for Samuel Friedeberg & Söhne, Berlin, measuring 38.57 mm (w) x 42.80 mm (h), minor flecking of enamels, otherwise in extremely fine condition.
