(Roter Adler Orden IV. Klasse). Instituted 12 June 1792 by King Friedrich Wilhelm II (IV Class instituted 18 January 1830 by King Friedrich Wilhelm III). (1861-1918 issue). Constructed of silver with enamels, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, consisting of a Cross Pattée with ribbed arms, the obverse bearing a central white enameled medallion overlaid by a hand-painted Hohenzollern-style imperial eagle, the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of King Friedrich Wilhelm II, the six o’clock arm maker marked “W” for the firm of Wagner & Sohn, Berlin, measuring 37.94 mm (w) x 43.09 mm (h), weighing 15.7 grams, in extremely fine condition.
