Prussia, State. A Crown Order in Gold, III Class with 50 Jubilee, by Johann Wagner & Sohn, c.1900
(Königliche Kronen-Orden 3. Klasse mit Jubiläumszahl 50). Instituted on 18 October 1861. Type II. (1867-1918 Issue). A 14K Gold cross pattée with white enamelled arms, the obverse centre presents a central medallion depicting the Royal Prussian crown, surrounded by a light-blue enamelled ring, bearing the inscription GOTT MIT UNS (GOD WITH US) in gold lettering, the reverse centre presents the royal cipher WR for Wilhelmus Rex, surrounded by a light-blue enamelled ring, inscribed DEN 18 OCTOBER 1861 (THE 18TH OF OCTOBER 1861), maker mark W, on bottom of six o’clock arm, for Johann Wagner & Sohn of Berlin, measuring 42.14 mm (w) x 56.45 mm (h), weighing 12.2 grams, with enamel chipping on obverse, 12 o’clock arm presents bent, on loop for suspension with jubilee number 50 in gilded bronze, and in overall near very fine condition.
