(Allgemeines Ehrenzeichen). Constructed of gilded bronze, the obverse with the monogram of Kaiser Wilhelm II above a date of 1912, the reverse with an inscription of VERDIENST UM DEN STAAT (SERVICE TO THE STATE) within a laurel wreath, unmarked, measuring 39.37 mm in diameter, weighing 19.6 grams, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, and in very fine condition, accompanied by a period original case, constructed of heavy card stock with a faux black leather exterior, the interior with a padded white satin-type lid liner, with a depressed black velvet medal bed, opening with a functional bronze spring catch with exterior stud release, measuring 70 mm (w) x 89 mm (l) x 18 mm (h), in extremely fine condition.
