Prussia, State. A Set of Field Marshal's (Feldmarschall) Shoulder Boards, c.1915
Of extremely high quality and rare, each board consisting of a single row of fine silvered bullion wire, interlaced with black threading, in a chevron formation, flanked by a row of fine gilt bullion wire in a thatched pattern on either side, the bullion wrapped around yellow support cords, in an interlocking weave pattern, the neck end of each with a loop for placement upon a uniform button, large silver crossed batons in the centr featuring alternating Prussia Crowns as well as the Prussian Eagles, red velvet underside, 55 mm x 121 mm each, evidence of mothing in the red wool on one board, scattered interruption in the bullion wire on both, otherwise extremely fine and rare.
