Reuss, Principality. A Medal for Faithful War Service
(Medaille für aufopfernde Tätigkeit in Kriegszeit). Instituted 10 November 1915 by Prince Heinrich XXVII. (1915-1918 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse consisting of a circular oak leaf wreath, surrounding a raised inscription of “FÜR TREUES WIRKEN IN EISERNER ZEIT 1914” (“FOR FAITHFUL WORK IN IRON TIMES 1914”), the reverse bearing a central raised monogram of Prince Heinrich XXVII, unmarked, measuring 33.71 mm in diameter, weighing 23.0 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
