Reuss, Principality. A Medal for Sacrifice in Wartime, c.1915
(Medaille für aufopfernde Tätigkeit in Kriegszeit). Instituted 10 November 1915 by Prince Heinrich XVII. (1915-1918 issue). Constructed of bronze, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a central monogram of Prince Heinrich XXVII, the reverse with a circular oak leaf wreath and central inscription of “FÜR TREUES WIRKEN IN EISERNER ZEIT 1914” (“FOR FAITHFUL ACTIONS IN WARTIME 1914”), measuring 33.18 mm in diameter, weighing 17.8 grams, in near extremely fine condition.
