Reuss, Principality. A Silver Merit Medal
(Silberne Verdienstmedaille). Instituted 1885 by Prince Heinrich XIV. (1885-1918). Constructed of silver, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised monogram of Prince Heinrich XIV, the reverse with an inscription of “FÜR VERDIENST” (“FOR MERIT”), within a laurel leaf wreath, measuring 32.72 mm in diameter, weighing 18.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
