Saxe-Altenburg, Duchy. A Bravery Medal, c.1918
(Tapferkeitsmedaille). Instituted 20 February 1915 by Duke Ernst II. (1918-1919 issue). Constructed of zink, on loop for suspension from its period original ribbon, the obverse with a raised Cross Pattée bearing a central Saxon coat of arms, flanked by a date of “1914”, the reverse with a central monogram of Duke Ernst II, unmarked, measuring 31.03 mm in diameter, weighing 12.6 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in extremely fine condition.
