(Silberne Verdienstmedaille des Sachsen-Ernestinischen Hausorden Sachsen-Coburg und Gotha). Instituted 25 December 1833. (1895-1905 issue). Constructed of silver, the obverse with a rightward-facing profile of Alfred, Duke of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha circumscribed by name and title, the reverse with a Maltese Cross bearing a central Saxon coat of arms, circumscribed by an inscription of “FIDELITER ET CONSTANTER” (“FAITHFUL AND STEADFAST”), unmarked, measuring 30.45 mm in diameter, weighing 15.2 grams (inclusive of ribbon), in near extremely fine condition.
